To celebrate the ancestral beasts of heraldry, myth and legend that have watched over Her Majesty the Queen throughout her unprecedented reign, a brand new UK £10 coin has been released featuring the Lion of England - a traditional symbol of centuries of Royal British Heraldry.

Coin Highlights:

The first of ten dynamic designs in The Queen’s Beasts Collection
Struck in a five ounces of 999 fine silver and finished to Proof standard, with a diameter of 65mm.
Extremely low mintage of only 2,500

The obverse of this coin features Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II in the most recently updated portrait by British Royal Mint designer Jody Clark.

The reverse of the coin depicts a ferocious, roaring Lion of England. This spectacular image is the first depicted in this coin series. Originally, the Queen's Beasts were sculptures used at Her Majesty's Coronation in 1953. These animals represent the Queen's ancestors. The reverse of the coin was also designed by Jody Clark.
