The role and nature of the TA, and its contribution to national defence has continued to evolve throughout one hundred years of service. During this time the TA has provided the Army with specialist skills and maintained a military presences, in local communities. Today the TA and Regular Army work together in defence peace-keeping and humanitarian roles.
