In 2015 the Royal Mint issued this beautiful Five Pound brilliant uncirculated coin, in a sealed gift pack.
To celebrate that HM Queen Elizabeth, became the longest serving British Monarch.
The young princess became Queen in 1952, the young princess Elizabeth was born in April 1926, the eldest daughter of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth.
Although, when she was born she was not destined to be Queen, until her uncle King Edward VIII abdicated so he could be with the woman he loved Wallis Simpson. After his abdication his brother George, Elizabeth’s father became King George VI and Princess Elizabeth was second in line to the throne.
Princess Elizabeth ascended the throne aged 25 after the death of her father on the 6th February 1952.
