A local builder who had been renovating an old chemist shop in our town around 1975, found a mint bag of Victorian farthings under a staircase. The bag contained one pound worth of farthings dated 1900 that's 960 coins; they had probable laid there untouched for over 75 years. Possibly the best purchase of my career.
Over the last 40 years I have pick out and sold the truly BU ones, none have been in circulation, but having been in a bank bag for over 100 years have toned into many shades of toning, the last of them around 200 will now be listed, mainly as VF/GVF/aEF/ and GEF
