XII World Cup Spain, 1st coin in a series of four, issued by the Isle of Man in Silver Proof enclosed within a descriptive colour folder. 28.2800 grams. 0.9250 Silver 0.8410 ounce silver Diameter: 38.5mm. Coin with Folder Depicts Map of Spain with Player holding 1982 winning cup above head. In 1920, French FA president, Jules Rimet, was elected president of the International Federation of Foot ball Association (FIFA). The World Cup was his brain-child, and following years of tireless crusading, he saw it become reality ten years later in 1930. By then membership of FIFA had grown to 26, but due to politics and travel difficulties only half that number were represented in Uruguay venue of the first competition. GRADE: Coin FDC.
