US, 1972 'EISENHOWER' Silver Dollar, issued in Capsule with Certificate, UNC

£16.00

Honouring both President Dwight D Eisenhower and man's first landing on the moon, this coin is the work of the U.S. Mint's Chief Engraver, Frank Gasparro. His initials can be found on the obverse at the base of Eisenhower's neck and below the Eagle's tail on the reverse. The small letter 'S' on the obverse signifies that the coin was struck at the San Francisco mint. The design on the reverse is an adaptation of the official Apollo 11 insignia.
